Suh Told Team They Aren’t Good Enough to Play With Him, Do You Agree?

Suh

Ideally you want your highest paid player to be the best player and a leader in the locker room. The Dolphins might have in Suh one of the best defensive players in the league but his leadership skills need a lot of refining.

According to reports, Suh told his teammates during a speech, he is the ultimate leader of that defense and they are not good enough to be part of it.

“I’m told he told them: ‘I run this defense, I’m going to be here for the next five years, there is no guarantee any of you will be as well. Only a handful of guys are good enough to play with me right now,’” Rapoport said on NFL Network’s GameDay Morning. “He also said the schemes were not good enough, the techniques were not enough and everyone needed to be better, he said ‘follow me.’”

This kind of speech could be borderline risky even coming from a coach, you want to motivate your players and sometimes these kind of words might light a fire under the ones with a lot of pride but coming from a teammate, I don’t think he will be able to win the locker room back. It’s one thing saying we have to step it up as a group because we are terrible right now and another thing just coming out by telling pretty much everybody they suck.

We will see how the interim coaching staff handles the situation but the only positive about is he did tell them straight to their faces and didn’t use the media to call them out.
