The premise of Broner’s statement is absolutely correct.
If people don’t like you for who you are, that is their problem, not yours. The issue with Broner is more about his ability to listen to people who are just trying to help him.
Sometimes, you need to be saved from yourself, but if you only have yes men and no one around you respect enough to listen to, you will go down a dangerous path in life.
I think people see Broner’s talent and want to help him because they have seen so many other boxers go down the path he is currently on and have it not turn out so well.
