When the Chicago Bulls got rid of Tom Thibodeau, most people felt he worn out his welcome in the ‘Windy City’.
Fast forwarding to now, Chicago find themselves sitting with an (15-11) record in a very cluttered eastern conference.
Fred Hoiberg’s up-tempo offense hasn’t worked thus far, as Chicago has the 27th ranked offense, which has caused some trade speculation to surface, via Adrian Wojnarowski.
Executives around the league, and people have told me, that the Bulls are very determined to add a talented wing player… and I’ve been told that the Bulls are open to…whether it’s Joakim Noah,Taj Gibson…maybe not both of them, but either of them if there’s a deal out there that they can bring in the best possible wing player available, they’re open to it… They need more shooting.”
While this sounds all good and dandy, one must ask, how much trade value does Noah and Gibson even have?
Noah will become a free agent in the summer, so a team trading for him would have to just want him for a rental and that seems rather unlikely.
Gibson has more value, but at what price?
I just don’t see Chicago getting anyone substantial for either one of these role players.
