Byron Scott Benches Randle & Russell; Are Lakers in Full Tank Mode?

The Los Angeles Lakers season is virtually over, but in reality, it was over before it even started.

Sure, the Lakers obtained solid pieces in free agency with Lou Williams, Brandon Bass and Roy Hibbert, but none of those guys were going to lift the Lakers into the playoffs by any stretch of the imagination.

This year should be all about developing their young guys, primarily D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle. However, head coach, Byron Scott, isn’t seeing it like that.

If the Lakers don’t land a top 3 pick in the upcoming draft, their pick will go to the Philadelphia 76ers. This isn’t an ordinary draft either because some guy named Ben Simmons will be apart of this class.

Simmons is one of those once in a lifetime prospects. He has the ability to change the fortunes of a franchise alone, which is why it’s vital for the Lakers to lose as much as possible.

Nonetheless, it seems like Scott is making decisions in hopes of winning now.

Just let the young guys lose and learn, Scott.
