Demaryius Thomas was key to the Broncos’ upset Sunday against the Patriots. He made a 36-yard catch that set up Andre Caldwell late touchdown but Thomas is very critical of his play feeling that he didn’t perform like he is supposed to.
“I feel like I let my teammates down besides that one big play,” Thomas said, via theDenver Post. “There were passes that I dropped that I should have caught. If you kind of get to that point where you’re always thinking about it, it kind of makes it worse.”
With Peyton Manning being out, Thomas is one of the leaders of that offense and he’s trying to set the bar high for his teammates. He dropped few passes but the weather wasn’t ideal but as a winner he is in the right mindset by not using the snow as an excuse.
Thomas is right to hold himself accountable because with Osweiler under center, he will need to make big plays for him in order to make him comfortable in the throwing game. He will get another shot Sunday against the Chargers who don’t have much to fight for the rest of the season.
