For Manu Ginobili, this holiday season may have been one to forget and that has nothing to do with the loss to the Rockets on Christmas. Clarin, the largest newspaper in Argentina, detailed how Ginobili’s parents were ambushed by home invaders who got in when the gate was opened when the family arrived home from a dinner on Tuesday.
When she was questioned by the local La Nueva media, Raquel detailed the ordeal. She even said that she bit a finger of one of the thieves and that one of the thieves was wearing a hood to avoid being identified. Raquel described that “there was a red car parked in front of our house, with a silver hood placed in front of the windshield, and I thought that it belonged to someone who would leave it there all night. But it wasn’t, because they were waiting for us or for one of our neighbors.” When asked whether any of the robbers were armed, Manu’s mother remembered that in the moment, you lose the notion of what happened, but: “all I know is that I bit one of their fingers. My husband also didn’t see if the delinquents were armed, because he couldn’t get out of the car. In the moment, you don’t see anything.”
The clutch gene runs STRONG in the Ginobili family! Reading things like that make me so appreciative to live in my little safe haven and not living gangster style in Argentina. Granted the alarm system did help stave off the criminals, but that finger bite was savage.
