Arnold Peralta was killed while on vacation in his hometown in Honduras. The soccer player who returned home after playing two seasons ago for the Rangers in Scotland was executed in the mall parking lot, he was hit by 18 bullets.
Honduras, which has one of the highest murder rates in the world, is plagued with gang violence. Peralta participated in the 2012 London Olympics games but withdrew from the World Cup last summer due to an injury. He recently celebrated the birth of his daughter.
The Glasgow Rangers will pay homage to Peralta with a minute of silence prior to their game this weekend.
