I’m not sure if this was Rick Pitino’s last game in Rupp Arena, but he has to have nightmares at his inability to beat a John Calipari coached team.
An angry Pitino was allegedly — caught on video — courtesy of KSR — giving a Kentucky fan the middle finger on his way into the tunnel.
Some Louisville fans have argued that he was throwing up the ‘L.’
Pitino denied he made the gesture and also explained what he was doing.
“No I didn’t flip off the fans. I was in the tunnel. People were yelling ugly crude things that I didn’t like. The 1-8 comment [Pitino’s record against Kentucky coach John Calipari] was fine. But the other comments I didn’t like.”
Asked whether he gestured in any way toward the crowd, Pitino said, “My recollection was a, ‘we r #1.'”
What do you think?
