Greg Schiano is set to replace Chris Ash as the defensive coordinator coach at Ohio State.
Former Bucs HC Greg Schiano expected to accept Assoc HC/DC at Ohio State, per source; will replace former OSU DC Chris Ash, new Rutgers HC.

This is a very good move for Ohio State, as the expression says the “rich gets richer”, Greg Schiano brings some additional credibility to the program. Urban Meyer can now delegate some of the recruiting to Schiano who has a good track record when it comes to recruiting since his Rutgers days. Schiano landed a NFL job thanks to his tenure at Rutgers, he made a name for himself at a school that has certainly not the fame he now has with Ohio State, one can argue bringing some talent will only gets easier for him.
Ohio State is almost getting a second head coach with Schiano, we could worry about Urban Meyer stepping in his toes but the two have a strong relationship and he will command the necessary respect from his players to build a dominant defensive football team.
It will be interesting to see how the defense improves next season in their quest to go back to the playoffs after falling short this year.
