After a ton of speculation about him potentially replacing Les Miles at LSU, Jimbo Fisher now has had to face questions about potentially replacing Mark Richt at Georgia.
Fisher made his intentions about any further speculation very clear.
Here are the details from the Orlando Sentinel:
Just so all the nonsensical message board and talk radio rumor-mongering would end, I asked Fisher on our Open Mike radio show to confirm that he’s staying at FSU and isn’t taking the Georgia job.
“You’re exactly right,” Fisher said. “I’m staying right here at Florida State.”
“There is no doubt I do (have one of the best jobs in America),” Fisher told me Tuesday. “This is a tremendous place. The Florida State people have been wonderful. This is a great place to live, a great place to coach; we’ve got great players, great tradition and great history. This is a tremendous job and a heckuva place. I love it here.
“All those other places (LSU, Georgia, etc.) are great, but this is just as good.”
Looks like we can put any further talk of Jimbo leaving Tallahassee to bed. If LSU and Georgia couldn’t persuade him, I don’t think any of the other jobs currently open will be able to either.
