According to SI.com, Des Moines Register sports columnist Randy Peterson suffered a broken leg when Iowa State fans stormed the court after their team’s comeback victory over Iowa on Thursday, the Register reports.

Peterson was scheduled to have surgery on his broken tibia and fibula late Thursday.
Fans stormed the court after Cyclones guard Monte Morris sunk the game-winning shot with 10 seconds remaining, giving Iowa State an 83–82 victory.
