LeBron James has started the first step towards being the next Michael Jordan of the NBA — signing a lifetime deal with Nike — the first of its kind.
“Nike lifer, I’m here to stay,”
“I ain’t going nowhere. Nike baby, it’s all about the Swoosh.”
The Bleacher Report video comes via one of James’ sneaker closet, with Nike’s everywhere.
“For a kid growing up, seeing kids walk around with Jordans and Barkleys and Pennies and Pippens. I thought that was the greatest thing – Griffeys – I thought that was the greatest thing ever. And I was that kid too.”
“This right here is where it all started. 18-year-old kid coming into the league and having an opportunity to have my own signature shoe, which I never ever thought would be possible.”
“I doesn’t make sense to me right now,” he says. “I haven’t got a grip on it. I haven’t got a grasp on what just happened today with this announcment.”
