Mayweather Sr Explains Why GGG is “Not No Good Fighter”

FLoyd GGG

Floyd Mayweather Sr. has one of the best eyes in boxing. His game plans for Floyd Mayweather Jr. zero in on an opponents weaknesses, no matter how small, and expose them.

Floyd Sr. also has a history of being bias, so his recent comments about GGG’s boxing ability can be taken many ways.

“I’m not going to say he can’t win now because he’s  young. Golovkin is not really fast at all. I have seen him fight one of those boys [Willie Monroe Jr]. Yeah, he is not no good fighter. Triple G is not no good fighter at all. I’m going to be honest with you – I can see, but I don’t know for sure, but I can see [the possibility of Canelo] pulling it off.” – Mayweather Sr.

GGG has dominated every opponent he’s fought so far. It’s hard to call a fighter with that resume ‘not no good.’

He also said that he thinks GGG would be Canelo if they fought right now, which isn’t a glowing endorsement for Alvarez.

“I think right now, I don’t think he’d beat Golovkin right now, not at this moment. I think they are trying to push Alvarez to fight Golovkin right now and I don’t think that’s fair. I don’t think that’s fair because he just won the title. I don’t that’s fair to force him to fight Golovkin.”
