Quentin Tarantino is making the rounds to promote his new film The Hateful Eight which brought him to the Howard Stern Show. Tarantino told Howard some very unflattering things about Disney.
It appears that Tarantino’s new film was all set to play at the famed LA theater the Cinerama Dome on Christmas until Disney jumped into the picture and put pressure on the owners of the Dome, ArcLight Cinemas. Disney wanted Star Wars: The Force Awakens to have the prime holiday run and when ArcLight supposedly told Disney no, Disney threatened to pull Star Wars from all ArcLight theaters if they did not give them the holiday slot. The theater really would have no choice at that point but to push The Hateful Eight and this is all according to Tarantino, who was pissed off to say the least.
Via Deadline,
“It was real bad news and it fucking pissed me off,” Tarantino told Stern. “They are going out of their way to fuck me.” – Quentin Tarantino
Tarantino made sure to point out that it was not Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J J Abrams he was upset at but the higher ups at Disney. Now there are reports that Disney actually secured the Dome months ago while Tarantino says he just found out about it on Monday.
