One of the NFL’s all-time great defensive lineman, and a member of those destructive Chicago Bears defenses, says he’d “knock Cam Newton’s ass out the game” for his game celebratory antics.
“It’s disrespect,” Hall of Fame defensive end Richard Dent told USA TODAY Sports.
Dent won a Super Bowl with the feared 1985 Chicago Bears, and said he would have done everything short of a “cheap shot,” to take Newton out.
“I’m going to knock your ass out of the game. That would’ve been my approach,” Dent said.
“At some point in the game — not with a cheap shot — I’m going to try to get a shot that puts you out for the day. That’s the risk when you want to showboat all the time.”
The ‘dab’ king will face the New York Giants next.
