Ronda Rousey had a sit down with ESPN’s Romona Shelburne (Click here to read the amazing article) to discuss her life before and after her loss to Holly Holm.
During the interview openly discussed the possibility of a rematch with Holm:
“I need to come back. I need to beat this chick. Who knows if I’m going to pop my teeth out or break my jaw or rip my lip open. I have to f*cking do it.”
That is to be expected, there’s way too much money in a rematch, but tucked away in the article was a statement that many may glance over. Ronda talks about everything riding on her rematch with Holm and how the future of her career will be hanging in the balance.
“I guess it’s all going to be determined by what happens in the rematch,” she says. “Everything is going to be determined by that. Either I’ll win and keep going or I won’t and I’ll be done with everything.”
Watching Ronda lose in that fashion, followed by her mishandling of defeat, gave many the indication that she may hang up the gloves. Hearing this statement confirms that two defeats to the same women would do just that.
Hopefully the MMA world braces themselves for life without Ronda Rousey because her rematch with Holm won’t be a cakewalk.
