Monta Ellis had a split second to think about it and missed it. Once he has a defender in his face he nails it. His body knew what to do, but his mind just had to get out of the way.
Even if it stopped right there, that was an incredible way to finish a great game. The sequence of events that even led up to the no-call foul from Jimmy Butler was astonishing.
Incredible timing from Pau Gasol and incredible athleticism from Jimmy Butler to take the victory at home. Now if this post ended here, we would have some upset Pacer fans. On the next play, the Pacers run a similar play with a whole lot less ball movement:

That was a pretty obvious foul to most basketball fans. Both Frank Vogel and George were visibly upset after the game. Vogel was able to hold his tongue, but George wasn’t as centered. CBS Sports had the quote:
“I got bodied and I couldn’t finish. He didn’t touch the ball. There was no block. I couldn’t shoot the layup because he came down on my arm. It sucks but I’ve been fighting this battle for a while.”
The Pacers play at home today when the Milwaukee Bucks come to town. I would expect a huge game out of a frustrated PG-13.
