Cowboys Players Had Greg Hardy’s Back Until the Following Happened

Greg Hardy was not only disliked by the large majority of NFL fans and players, but it also appears that his own teammates may have felt a similar way. The Dallas Morning News had the quote:

“A few teammates who had supported Hardy early began to sour on him late in the season, in part because his perpetual tardiness for team meetings never resulted in a reduction of playing time. Tardiness was also an issue for Hardy with his previous teams.”

If your teammates don’t even like you then you’re probably in trouble. They are the people that are around you every day and know you best. They have an incentive to like you and it still isn’t enough for Greg Hardy.

When you’ve had a checkered past like he has, you would think you would, at least, do all the little things to correct that perception of you but instead, Hardy continues to show a lack of social awareness and ability to be introspective. When you’re as successful as he is, despite the flaws, it has to be near impossible to get through to him. Why would he listen to anyone else?

Now the question is should the Cowboys bring him back? To me, it’s an obvious no. The return on the investment they made in Hardy just isn’t enough. For all the bad press, bad behavior, and average play on the field that he brings, what would the reasoning be to bring him back?
