Traditions run deep in other nations outside of America. The image of Steve Harvey burning must’ve satisfied Colombians.
The term, “Año Viejo,” literally means old year in Spanish. In Central and South America, the tradition is to make a doll that represents things you hate from the previous year and thus, you’re burning it away at midnight. So you’re basically letting it go. It seems that the sentiment in Central and South America hasn’t left. Many are still upset with Steve Harvey’s mishap during the Miss Universe pageant in which he awarded Miss Colombia instead of Miss Philippines. Mistakes happen and it’s clear that many have not let Harvey’s mistake go. Harvey was the most popular doll this year and to the surprise of no one, Donald Trump came in second place. Take a look at the creativity of some of these dolls but before you do, take a look at the footage.
