Anaheim Ducks Clayton Stoner might have got off a little easy. According to TMZ.com, Stoner pled guilty to hunting and killing a grizzly bear back in 2013 without a license. Clayton wont face any jail time but he has been banned from hunting for three years. The interesting twist to this story is his it all started with a lie.
Stoner did apply to get his hunting license but it was denied once they found out he was lying to wildfire officials in order to scam a way into getting his license. The issue is that you are required to spend at least 6 months of the year in British Columbia to be eligible. The judge believed Stoner’s story thinking he qualified for the license. Since then, 4 charges have been dropped, Stoner was fined $10,000 and banned from hunting for 3 years.
