I think this is a bit of an extreme comparison.
Hamas entire goal is to destroy Israel, LeBron just got a coach fired.
Hamas’ 1988 charter states that Hamas “strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine” (Article Six) and that “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”
The United States recognized Hamas as a terrorist organization, LeBron is a lot of things, but he isn’t a terrorist hell-bent on the destruct of an entire country.
With that being said Israel is not taking Blatt’s firing well.
According to a report of Jerusalem by Agence France-Presse, Israeli sports journalist Sharon Davidovitch said “LeBron James is now the most hated person in Israel.
“It’s a little bit joking and a little bit true: These days I can only compare the Israeli hate for LeBron James to the hate for Hamas,” Davidovitch told AFP.
Also, former University of Michigan basketball player Stu Douglass, now playing for Hapoel Gilboa Galil in Israel, tweeted on Monday that “Israeli TV won’t put the Cavs games on now since Blatt got fired and now everyone hates Lebron (sic).”
They could at least show the Warriors games as a replacement.
