John Wall was named Eastern Player of the month (December) while the duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook was named Players of the month in the West. John Wall had to step up because Bradley Beal is out with an injury while Durant and Westbrook surprisingly edged out Stephen Curry.

Karl-Anthony Towns and Kristaps Porzingis are still enjoying success in their rookie season as they have been named Rookie of the month (December) in their respective conference for the second consecutive month. The two rookies battled each other on Dec 16th with the Knicks coming on top.

Gregg Popovich and Scott Skiles was also named Coach of the month respectively in the East and the West. The Magic posted a 10-5 record in December while the Spurs were 9-1 and still perfect at home this season
