NBA All Star Weekend has finally made it to Toronto, and despite subzero temperatures, many celebrities and fans have made their way north of the border. Minnesota Timberwolves star, Andrew Wiggins, participated in the USA vs The World game on Friday, and the Canadian native made sure to give back to the community where it all began on Saturday.
Wiggins teamed up with Adidas to renovate the gym where he grew up playing basketball. The kids of the Vaughn suburb of Toronto now have everything brand new courtesy of Wiggins’ efforts. He is certainly embracing being a role model at a young age, but Wiggins agrees that it’s each person’s choice of how they decide to present themselves to their fans.
It’s a cold weekend in Toronto. Wiggins’ team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, is another fairly cold city that hasn’t seen any All Star love since 1994. We asked him if he would try to lobby to bring it back to Minneapolis, but he was a bit mum on the subject. How do you guys feel about NBA All Star Weekend going there?
