John Elway has proven himself as not just a former QB playing general manager, but one of the best executives the NFL has in the game today. He built the Broncos pretty quickly and the reason why seems almost too simple. But that might be the genius of Elway. From The MMQB:
“Speed kills. But not 40 speed. Play speed. A guy’s 40 speed might be 4.8, but look at his instincts and how he reacts to plays—that might get his true speed down to 4.6.”
His work speaks for itself. We’ll see just how far it will take his team on Sunday. If he does bring the Broncos another championship, in a different way, Denver might be renamed to ‘Elway’.
