Peyton Manning is coming off of one of the worst seasons of his career but he still has the chance to end the year with a Super Bowl ring. The Broncos got a glimpse of their future QB, Brock Osweiler, during the season and Manning’s cap number is north of $18 million next season.
In a perfect world Peyton wins his 2nd title and rides off into the sunset like Elway but the NFL is far from perfect.
ESPN Adam Schefter is reporting that a few team may take a go at Manning in free agency.
Manning still is under contract to the Broncos for another year, but most around the league do not expect him to return to Denver next season, if he returns at all.
Manning still must decide whether he wants to play again, and the Rams still are formulating their quarterback plans. But they are monitoring the Manning situation, per a source, which is a sign that the Broncos quarterback could have options next season.
If Peyton still has the fire inside of him then he will want to play next season and the Broncos have the ability to move on from the 40 year-old signal caller. This is where the Rams come into play.
They are in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL but it’s a division that has a recent history of producing playoff teams with great defenses, strong running games and clutch QBs. Peyton would instantly make the Rams a contender in the NFC.
