It hasn’t been done since the likes of Andrew Bynum, Martell Webster, & Gerald Green in 2005, but the top high school basketball prospect, Jonathan Isaac, could skip his freshman year of college and go straight to the NBA. Details from Sports Illustrated:
“Isaac, 18, and IMG (Academy) officials expect that he’ll be eligible for the 2016 NBA draft because he started high school in 2011, which would make him one year removed from his initial graduating class.”
The best part for Isaac is the new rule allowing prospects to enter the draft but withdraw and still be able to go back to college. The young fella has a Kevin Durant-like game- 6’10 small forward with handles and a silky smooth jumper.
There are a lot of technicalities with the rule and there is some doubt that he will be eligible when it’s all said and done.
Multiple teams reached out to NBA league office to inquire, but were told J. Isaac is not draft eligible. Does not have his diploma in hand.

As of now the star recruit has committed to Florida State and will play ball for the Seminoles next season. There are rumors that he could drop out and create a loophole.
It will be an interesting story to keep your eye on.
