This 28-year old Minnesota man is being accused of pointing a loaded 12-gauge shotgun at his wife while she was breastfeeding their baby and pulling the trigger, only to have it not go off. More from CBS Minnesota:
Nicholas George Lehmeier faces one felony count of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon – a firearm – in connection to the July 2015 incident.
According to the complaint, on Monday, Feb. 8, a woman spoke to a deputy at the sheriff’s office and reported that Lehmeier had been subjecting her to physical and verbal abuse for over 10 years.
This was the first night they were able to bring the baby home since his five children were removed- he was charged and convicted of assaulting their 7-year old. The victim also told the police he controlled her finances and who she was friends with. She also accused Lehmeier of raping her because they were married, so they had to have sex according to him.
He is looking at up to seven years in prison and/or a $14,000 fine. Hopefully the former, it sounds like this guy has overstayed his welcome in society if these accusations are true.
