The Los Angeles Clippers were specifically honored with the community spirit award for their charitable work in the local LA community. Kevin Frazier, John Salley and Jim Hill hosted the evening’s festivities with local LA band Ozomatli performing. Baron Davis wowed the crowd with his DJ skills at the afterparty.
During the red carpet event, I was able to interview Laura Govan, Next 15 and Basketball Wives LA star. I asked about how she transitioned from one reality show to the next and she said she wasn’t the same person she was anymore. I also talked to her about criticism she faced, especially from her ex, Gilbert Arenas, that had issues with the expensive clothing she wore on a regular basis. She said that most of the clothes she receives, are free and she really doesn’t care what people say about her.
I also spoke with Real Housewives of Atlanta’s supermodel star, Cynthia Bailey. She said she read BSO and we were one of the sites who didn’t throw shade at her.
All in all, it was a magical night for a good cause. Sports Spectacular has helped to raise more than $25 million to help fight diabetes and obesity to encourage healthy eating and exercise. For more information or if you want to be able to donate, visit sportsspectacular.com. BE SPECTACULAR!
