With only eight games remaining in the season the Chicago Bulls are in danger of missing the playoffs. Many believe it’s because of the new head coach Fred Hoiberg while others believe it’s because of the players. According to Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports Jimmy Butler could possibly playing his last eight games in a Chicago Bulls uniform.
“I’ve been hearing rumblings that there is legitimate interest in Chicago in potentially dealing Jimmy Butler this offseason.”
Trading Jimmy Butler who is clearly the best player on the team would be a mistake if the Bulls decided to pull the trigger, and let him go. The Bulls already have an aging veteran squad, and a point guard in Derrick Rose who is unreliable to due to injuries. Butler is only 26 and is arguably a top 3 shooting guard in the league which makes it even more of a head scratcher to move him.
If the Bulls decide to move him there would be a lot of teams lining up to take him one being the Boston Celtics who are loaded with drafts picks. The only problem with that would be the Celtics are in the Eastern Conference so you would have to get through them to get to the finals. The best thing to do would be trade him out West maybe to the Lakers who will have a lottery pick in the draft, and D’Angelo Russell who definitely needs a fresh start with a new team.
There are so many different scenarios, but if you ask me the best thing to do would be to keep Jimmy Butler, and build around him.
