hovtidal

You certainly can’t knock Jay’s hustle. The Hip hop mogul is looking to expand Tidal’s streaming service to include movies. According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Hov is in negotiations with movie industry executives for a partnership to create films for Tidal.  With a focus on the artists signed to the streaming service. Can you imagine?! Original films from Rihanna, Kanye, and Queen Bey…yes please!!

Tidal has put in a request to Apple for approval to add movie streaming to their app, and the service could be up and running as early as June. A source for the Post said:

The movie service will feature original content as well as acquired films. Tidal hopes to work with an indie studio or producer on a partnership to create original movies.

We recently posted on Tidal’s year one numbers, and the numbers could be even better, as Jay has accused Tidal of misrepresenting the original subscriber numbers prior to his acquisition.

Jay looks to be doubling down on his investment; a calculated business move. His reach extends throughout the entertainment industry, many of his high profile connections could make this move extremely lucrative.
