Ryan Fitzpatrick had the best year of his career last season, and outperformed Denver’s Super Bowl winning QB Peyton Manning, so why are the Broncos hesitant to sign him?
According to many close to the organization, Fitzpatrick wants to get paid like a starting QB but at age 33 teams want more proof that his level of play is sustainable.
The Broncos have reached out to free agent Ryan Fitzpatrick’s representatives, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, though Denver currently is unwilling to pay the salary that the quarterback is seeking.
The Broncos are in no rush to sign a QB considering they just traded for Mark Sanchez. Having Sanchez as a backup, presumably, allows them to draft a young QB late in the 1st round if they chose or play the waiting game on a trade with San Francisco.
