Things are really bad in New York, the Knicks just can’t get it right. Although I will admit, they seem to have drafted the right player in last years draft but besides that, nothing seems to be going right.
After getting off to a really slow start, the Knicks thought it was best to move on from former head coach Derek Fisher. Maybe his run-in with his old teammate Matt Barnes played a role in his firing which I’m sure could have been overlooked if the team was championship caliber or even in the playoffs picture. Kurt Rambis was name the temporary replacement for Fisher and it’s been rumored that the Knicks may explore running a two coach system next year.
According to BleacherReport, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported that Phil Jackson could return to the bench next year to coach only home games while Rambis would travel and coach road game. This is an ideal that just doesn’t sit well with star forward Carmelo Anthony.
“Nah, Nah, Nah. I don’t think that should be accepted. I wouldn’t accept that if that was the case. I think you should consider Kurt (as full-time coach) but I think you still have to at least listen to other candidates out there.”
Carmelo has a solid point here. Having two coaches just seem weird and like a major accident waiting to happen. There is no chance of this working.
