This day in age, educators are forgetting their place in the classroom and find themselves in bed with their students.
The bond between a teacher and a student one is a special one. Often, your teacher inspires you to want to excel towards your goals and think about your future, not getting naked. Nonetheless, teacher Courtney B. Stewart is under investigation after allegedly having sex with students.
A teacher at Huguenot High School has been charged with sexually assaulting an underage male student attending the school, according to Richmond police.
Courtney B. Stewart, 24, of the 3600 block of West Broad Street, has been charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties while in a supervisory role; both are felonies.
Stewart was arrested Thursday, police said. She has been released, according to jail records.
According to Huguenot High School’s website, Stewart is an exceptional-education teacher. It is unclear whether the student was in her class.
The assault took place a few months ago.
Court records show the first alleged assault occurred between Nov. 24, 2015, and Dec. 24, 2015, and the second happened sometime last month. The alleged victim was the same in both cases, the records said.
Detectives are investigating whether there may be additional victims.
Stewart has been suspended without pay.
