If Baylor’s LaQuan McGowan has it his way — he’ll make a few million in the NFL — before following his true calling as a WWE superstar.
The 6-foot-7, 410-pound tight end told Alex Kirshner of SB Nation he wants to be a professional wrestler one day.
“I feel like once that’s over with, the WWE is calling my name,” McGowan said, adding he’s already spoken to a “couple of people” in the industry who “said they might be interested and talked to me a little bit about the process and how stuff works.”
Displaying a bit of maturity and honesty — McGowan says he expects his NFL career to last no longer than three to five years.
“I’ve watched it on TV. I’ve thought about, ‘What would be something good or something that I would enjoy doing for a decent, for a long period of time?'” he said. “For big guys in the NFL, they really don’t last that long.”
WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross was stoked about the idea.
Happy to say that LaQuan & I have been in communication the past few months. He'd fit great in @WWE after @NFL https://t.co/Aw3O93IWDY
