By now the sports world knows that Skip Bayless is moving on from ESPN and the show ‘First Take.’ ESPN’s attention must now turn towards filling his seat and providing Stephen A. Smith with an adequate sidekick.
Here are a few people that’d fit nicely across the debate table.
1. Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson
Chad Johnson is a dark-horse candidate, I know, but his charisma and unpredictability could elevate First Take to new levels. One thing the show has been missing is the credibility provided by a professional athlete. We’ve also seen athletes translate well to talk shows as of late, Strahan on ‘Live’ and Jesse Palmer on ‘GMA.’
Would anyone frown at watching Chad on Television every morning?
2. Ryan Ruocco
The most likely candidate for the position is former Stephen A. radio co-host Ryan Ruocco. The two have a natural chemistry and they’d be able to bring that to the screen on day one. He’s also the closest thing they have available to the character Skip portrayed. Fans would continue to choose sides and “Embrace Debate.”
