After the actor who plays Bubbles in Trailer Park Boys was arrested for allegedly choking a woman, one of their main characters is calling it quits.

Lucy plays the love interest of Ricky (Robb Wells) and has been there since the beginning of the show. Lucy had been a part of a legal battle involving sexual assault, so her decision to leave the show shouldn’t be totally surprising. It appears the decision may have been made long before the alleged assault. Quote via the CBC:
Publicist Shelia Roberts said DeCoutere told the show’s producer a few weeks ago that she would not be returning next season. “This does not come as a surprise to us,” Roberts said in an email.
Lucy made it very clear on Twitter that the assault did in fact play a part in her decision:
If I find out that somebody is abusive, I cut them out of my life. It's very easy.

Trailer Park Boys just released their 10th season on Netflix not long ago. They also do a podcast regularly, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming weeks.
