As the world continues to process the Beyoncè magnum opus Lemonade opinions and think pieces, affirmative and negative, continue to flood the marketplace. While a large number of Bey’s musical peers have offered glowing opinions of the album, Iggy Azalea’s reception of some of the subject matter has been less than warm.
The Aussie pop star is taking issue with the now infamous, “Becky with the Good Hair” line that appears in the song Sorry. In a series of tweets she expressed her discontent with the term as it “generalizes a race” and reinforces white female stereotypes. The same Iggy that’s tweeted numerous times in the past some less than stellar characterizations of a number of ethnic groups including Mexicans and Native Americans.
She’ll likely be taking a twitter hiatus again once the BeyHive gets warmed up.To see the rest Iggy’s opinions on being called “Becky” flip the pages.
