Kelly Ripa returned to Live with Kelly & Michael this morning. Her first appearance since her co-host announced he was leaving the show to join Good Morning America. More on that in another post. In the days since the announcement, rumors have been spreading like wildfire as to Strahan’s reasoning. According to a TMZ report a source said Strahan was sick of the sniping and “bullying” by Ripa. Apparently Michael had become too big of a star for Kelly’s liking and he wasn’t “present enough” on ‘Live.’ The visual in my mind of the diminutive Ripa bullying the massive Strahan is hilarious.
What makes the ‘Live’ situation so fascinating, is that they have to get along on camera for a few hours every morning to entertain viewers. And at the end of the day, that is their job, to entertain. Many of our favorite tv and movie celebrities, media personalities entertainers and athletes don’t get along with their co-workers. Some we know about and others we don’t. But, they must put on that “happy face” so that they can get paid and so that we can be entertained.
