Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury turned on the jets to steal home against left-handed pitcher Matt Moore. His full wind up doomed him as Ellsbury was half way there before Moore got halfway through his pitching motion.
You have to have two things you can’t really teach to steal a base like that: speed and bravery. Count me out of going anywhere near a pitch from someone who does it for a living.
You can teach a person to be faster, but you can’t teach them to be fast. Same thing with bravery.
