Claressa Shields profile just got a little bit larger.
The 2012 Olympic gold medalist boxer from Flint, Michigan got a profile from Melissa Starks on Jim Lampley’s The Fight Game.
“God says, ‘Good things come to those who wait,’ and I’ve been patiently waiting, winning, training real hard and staying focused,” Shields previously told The Flint Journal. “Even though I thought I deserved it at the beginning, I’m just thankful for every opportunity that I get.
“It’s easy to stay humble because I’m too much of a down-to-earth person and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Shields, 21, qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio after winning the Americas Qualifier tournament in Argentina on March 19 — and was the subject of a 2015 documentary titled “T-Rex” that Universal Pictures will turn into a biopic.
