Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna has a tough decision to make in the next few weeks. She has been accepted in all 8 Ivy League colleges, and 4 other colleges that she applied to.
The 17-year-old valedictorian from Elmont Memorial High School told KSLA-TV:
My family is so excited. Sometimes I feel like they get so much more excited than me. They literally scream. When I called my mom and told her she was screaming on the phone.
I am humbled by all of the college acceptance letters that I recently received. I am reminded that I have a responsibility to be a role model for others and use my experiences to encourage and inspire others, especially young women.
She plans to pursue an education in a science-related major. Uwamanzu-Nna was also a finalist in the 2016 Intel Science Talent Search and recently received an invitation to the White House science fair.
