The L.A. Rams pulled the trigger on grabbing their QB of the future today when a deal for the Tennessee Titans’ #1 overall draft pick was announced.
At roughly 9 a.m. est news broke of the trade that will send 6 picks over the next 2 years from the Rams to the Titans in exchange for 3 picks in this year’s draft. The key piece being the #1 overall pick.
Teams traditionally mortgage their future for one reason only, to grab their franchise QB. That being said, the Rams had to pay a hefty price to move up 14 spots.
Here’s the details of the trade:

Did we mention they already have their franchise QB in Marcus Mariota?
We’ve seen the Rams on the other end of a deal like this not too long ago. The Redskins gave the Rams a king’s ransom to move up to grab RG3 and we all know how that trade turned out.
Did the Rams give up too much for the #1 overall pick? Only time will tell.
