The Sacramento Kings haven’t been to the post-season since 2006.
Still, the team is attempting to breathe excitement back into it’s fanbase with a new state-of-the-art, tech-centric arena and branding package.
Kings Owner & Chairman Vivek Ranadivé spoke to fans and presented a special preview at the team’s new Golden 1 Center (currently under construction) in Downtown Sacramento:
“When the Kings moved to Sacramento in 1985, the city was transformed. Today, we aim to do it again,” said Ranadivé. “This brand kicks off a new era for our franchise as we move into the most technologically-advanced, most environmentally-friendly arena in the world. As Sacramento becomes the next great American city, this identity honors our heritage while moving us forward.”
Hopefully, all the pomp & circumstance can make Kings season ticket holders forget the team actually really isn’t that good in the NBA’s ultra-competitive western conference.
