AP on Why It’s Not Crazy to Think Vikings Will Win SB

Adrian Peterson says he's entering his prime

Adrian Peterson likes what he has seen so far in this short NFL offseason. While most NFL people have their eyes on the Patriots and Panthers, AP is here to convince you that it should be the Vikings who we should keep our eye on. Quote thanks to CBS Sports:

“We are going to have a good chance to win it this year — win everything,” Peterson said. “Sit back and watch. Sit back and watch. You can be like, ‘I thought you guys were at least a couple of years away.’ Nope. You sit back and watch, this year.”

If you look at the landscape of the NFL, it does leave open the possibility for a young rising team to make a leap into the top teams. Who knows what the Patriots will look like for the first part of the season without Tom Brady or what the Broncos will look like with Mark Sanchez at the helm. You can’t forget Josh Norman left the Super Bowl runner-up.

More from Peterson:

“Offensively just going off of what we were able to accomplish this year and we really weren’t the type of offense that we wanted to be,” Peterson said. “But you look at that and we were right there in the mix of really going on to play Arizona and end up in the NFC Championship game with what we had offensively.”

Things are shifting in the NFL and if they progress fast enough and if things fall the right way (injuries, chemistry problems for top teams), it’s not crazy to think we could see them holding the Lombardi Trophy at the end of this season- but don’t get too excited Vikings fans because if you look at the date on the calendar, anything is possible in the NFL.
