Since losing to Holly Holm in one of the most shocking sports upsets in recent memory last November, Ronda Rousey has kept quiet about her return to the cage. Instead, she has kept busy with a number of projects including a hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live” and a movie deal with Lifetime.
UFC president Dana White went on The Dan Patrick Show where he revealed that he is unsure of when Rousey will return to octagon. He stated that “no fighter has worked harder than Ronda Rousey over the last three years, other than probably Conor McGregor. She deserves the time off.” Prior to those comments, it looked as though the UFC and Rousey were aiming for a November return at UFC’s 205 Card during which the league is making its New York debut.
It is uncertain what is delaying Rousey’s return. Perhaps her return is being impeded due to negotiations as a result of the league’s $4 billion dollar valuation rumor. Maybe, the humbling loss to Holm has her reconsidering her passion for the sport. Only time will tell as she remains mum on the topic publicly.
