I had the pleasure of covering Bryce for two years at UNLV and he was always a leader for his team and was just coming into his own as a professional basketball player. He earned his spot on the Pelicans’ team by performing well on their Summer League team.
He didn’t make the Pelicans’ initial roster but after scoring 19 ppg for the Idaho Stampede he was signed to a 10-day contract. His season ended shortly after due to a broken wrist but in that brief time he showed that he belonged in the NBA.
We will update the story with more details as they become available and we wish the best to Bryce’s family.
