Details on the dummies, via Bleacher Report:
The motorized dummies, developed by Elliot Kastner, are quick (posting a 5.0 40-yard dash time), easily maneuverable, serviceable to any on-field position group, and unlike trainers or teammates, never tire.
Most importantly, the remote-controlled devices allow players to properly practice for real game-day play with reduced risk of injury, particularly head trauma.
This, in addition to virtual reality sets some QBs are using to simulate active pass rush scenarios are going to becoming more commonplace around the league as time moves on, but will they improve player performance and help to curb injuries?
Time will tell.
