The talk of the Raiders relocating to Las Vegas has been a hot topic discussion lately, and it could very well be possible with the prospects of the NFL franchise staying in Oakland being very slim.
Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman is confident the Raiders will make the move unless the deal becomes mismanaged.
“The Raiders will come if Nevada handles this properly,” Goodman said.
“Mark Davis has assured us that Las Vegas is not getting played in a Raiders stadium deal. I know we will have a team.”
The Raiders were originally in the bidding alongside the Chargers and Rams to move to Los Angeles, until the Rams were eventually awarded.
The Raiders moving to Las Vegas would be huge for the city, giving them their first sports franchise out of the four major leagues (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB). Goodman adds that funding for a stadium wouldn’t be an issue either.
“We are getting calls from outside the region offering to help with funding for stadium in Las Vegas.”
