According to Bloomberg Sports, The NFL Pro Bowl is on the move. Where to you might ask? Starting with next season, the event will move to Orlando, FL where it will be played in the Citrus Bowl.
Hawaii’s tourism authority’s contract with the NFL expires at the end of May, and the league has opted out of renewal. The Florida city beat out Houston, TX and Sydney, Australia to host the prestigious postseason game. In efforts to entice the NFL to move the Pro Bowl, Orange County’s Tourist Development Council voted last week to recommend $3 million in hotel taxes. City officials confirmed that they are lobbying to host the Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium for at least three years, beginning in 2017.
The Pro Bowl has only been held outside of Honolulu twice since 1979.
