For the past three seasons, now former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Dave Joerger was the franchises head coach. Each season they made the playoffs, but Memphis was never quite good enough to compete with the top tier teams in the western conference.
However, just being able to make the playoffs this season was remarkable within itself considering the amount of injuries Memphis had to endure.
Nonetheless, it wasn’t enough for Memphis to keep Joerger around and he should be thankful for that.
1. Joerger gets to test out his expertise
During his time in Memphis, Joerger would openly display his dissatisfaction with the roster. While he wanted a more free flowing offensive system, the front office guys were refusing to get players to fit that mold, which resulted in the same ‘ole dump it down to the post half-court approach.
